Two other employees of this insurance agency and I worked together to save a client almost $3,000. The client is from Highland, Indiana.
When the client retired and switched from her previous insurance policy to Medicare with a Medicare supplement policy through our agency, her previous insurance company claimed that it never got a letter to cancel that policy. The client went to our office on Calumet Avenue in Munster for help.
The agents’ assistant Danielle Stafford collected certain information about the matter from our client and tried to resolve the problem. But, she could not and she sent the matter to agent Anas Jamaleddin at the Merrillville office who gathered more information and then delivered it to me. I reviewed the facts of the case and wrote a letter to the insurance company which explained that it should cancel the client’s policy as of the date that Medicare and the Medicare supplement policy became effective. I told them to return our client’s money.
On August 11, 2014, the prior insurance company contacted our Merrillville office and told the agent who worked on this case with me that it would return to our client the entire $2,942.80. That agent told me and then phoned our client to report the good news. She was very, very happy to get that report.
All the help that we gave this client was FREE OF CHARGE. Everyone at this insurance agency really cares about our senior citizen clients and we “go the extra mile” to help them whenever we can. Does your insurance agency give this high standard of service to its senior citizen clients? If not, why not?
