Senior Care Insurance Services

On June 24, 2019, I helped a client from Dyer, Indiana. He had retired and used our insurance agency to select a Medicare supplement insurance policy. But, his claims were not getting to his insurer and he was getting bills that he did not expect.

I reviewed the papers that he brought to our office and made two phone calls with him. In each phone call, he granted permission for me to speak and question on his behalf.

I learned that Medicare records still showed the client as being covered by a group insurance plan that ended on December 31, 2007. The Medicare records were eleven and a half years behind his current status. The false information was preventing his Medicare supplement insurance plan company from getting his claims. You can’t blame an insurance company for not paying claims that Medicare never sends to it.

I was able to help the client get the Medicare records corrected. He was relieved. Before he left, he told me that the people in our agency’s Munster office called me “the GURU of Medicare problem solving”. Is it time for me to meditate today?
