A client delivered a medical bill and other papers to our Merrillville office and asked that I review the items. The client is from Saint John, Indiana.
I found some problems and inconsistencies with the bill and related papers. The medical firm wanted our client to pay $2,123.86. But, I believed that the correct amount that our client should pay was only $500.
I wrote a letter to the law firm that was hired to collect from our client. I have dealt with this law firm often. They treat me in a professional and pleasant way and I treat them in the same manner.
My letter explained what I saw as inconsistencies in some of the documents that related to the bill that our client received. I explained how I calculated what I believed was the correct amount owed.
On June 12, 2018, I received a phone call from the law firm. They agreed that I brought to their attention some very reasonable points. They agreed to accept $500 as payment in full from our client. Also, the law firm assured me that the collection matter would not be reported to any credit bureau. Thus, my effort saved our client $1,623.86 and a credit blemish.
All the help that I gave this client was FREE OF CHARGE. This insurance agency is proud of having a reputation of “going the extra mile” for our clients. If your insurance agency does not give this high level of customer service, maybe you should become a client of our insurance agency.
